Police are still investigating a terrible accident that took place on Saturday morning in Florence, Kentucky. 19 year old Donald Sanders was traveling south on I-75 when he lost control of his motorcycle. According to police, the motorcycle slid to the right and into the path of a semi-truck driven by Christian Wells, a 30 year old man from Louisville, Kentucky. They report that the motorcycle was lodged underneath the truck and then dragged nearly a quarter of a mile before both vehicles burst into flames.
Police say that the fire totally destroyed both vehicles. Wells and a passenger, 43 year old Bobby Burton, managed to escape the blazing truck and did not sustain any injuries. Sanders was immediately rushed to University Hospital for treatment.
A portion of southbound I-75 was closed for about an hour as crews worked to clean up the scene. The interstate reopened completely at approximately 5:30 AM.
