For anyone thinking the government can do something, remember we live in a free market system! It is not the job of the government to set the price of fuel. We don’t live in a communist country! The problem in trucking is that there are no RATE STANDARDS which should be agreed upon and set by the industry and regulated and enforced by the trucking industry. Presently, there are too many middle men and it’s a total free-for-all! Can we afford to do business like this anymore?

The big oil companies are in the process of wrecking the economy. What the hell are they trying to prove anyway? I think the real problem is the greedy governments that are “on the take” with their high taxes and showing the big oil companies approval by remaining silent. The government has become a “willing accomplise” of the greedy oil cartels. I wish there was a way out of this dilemma! I feel for my brothers and sisters in the trucking industry.

Striking wont work on this hot topic. If it was union and you’re being paid to strike that one thing, however not moving loads regardless of the cost means NO money. Most owner operators can’t afford a strike. Unfortunately the top chief of our nation needs to apply pressure to reduce our fuel costs. Striking in this industry in these hard economic times won’t change anything.
