Truck Fee’s to Rise in Colorado

In the state of Colorado, the fees that trucks have to pay are going up. The vehicle registration fees are designed to pay for repairs to bridges and roads, and they amount to a lot of money over time for these projects. There will also be a two dollar a day increase in what a person will pay to rent a car. In addition to those expenses there could be some toll roads put in so that individuals who want to travel through the state can give some of their hard-earned money for construction and maintenance of roads and bridges.

The Senate voted the bill through by a narrow margin, so it will be up to the House to determine whether it will succeed or whether it will fail. It’s also possible that there will just be some changes made and the bill will continue to be passed around. It looks as though it will pass in some form, however, and trucks in Colorado will cost more to register.

While the money is needed for roads and bridges a lot of people are not very happy about paying extra to fund those projects.

Let people pay more for gas. You use a lot, you pay lots of money.

Honestly we as Taxpayers already pay enough for the roads. The Federal Highway Fund is not paying the States back since the Federal Government is constantly borrowing against that same fund. If you raise the amount that truckers pay- you, the comsumer will end up paying that too everytime you buy something. Toll roads just take and take and raise the rate every so often. “Pay more for gas”- no that doesnt solve the problem either. Find another way in these economic times.

Heck Go Ahead keep raising the cost to opperate a truck, the cost will just get passed down the line, just like everything else.wouldn’t it be a lot easier to have the federal and state governments be held accountable for what they keep wasting all the money on that they are now getting. They ned to Quit stealing from Peter To Pay Paul and put all the moey in a seperate fund and do away with this General Fund BS.
