Pennsylvania Truck Stop Offers More than a Fuel Fill up

If you go to the truck stop in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, you can get more than just fuel for your truck. You can also get fuel for your body in the way of food and fuel for your soul in the way of prayer.

The truck stop doesn’t impose prayer on anyone, so if you’re not religious you don’t have to be uncomfortable stopping there. However, if you feel like you need a little bit more to keep you going in these troubled times, you can sit in the chapel and hear Jerry Weaver preach. There’s a Sunday morning service there, in a building made from a truck trailer, and all kinds of truckers from all kinds of backgrounds stop there to get some comfort and to share their worries, fears, hopes, and dreams with Weaver.

If you don’t come through on a Sunday that’s no problem, because Weaver is usually there anyway, and he’ll pray with you anytime. At sixty-seven he is retired and wants to help others when he’s not spending time with his six grandchildren. He knows how difficult things are so he brings hope and comfort to people before they get back out on the road.
