Ohio Looking to Revive Projects

Like any state, Ohio had projects that it wanted to work on, some of which were derailed by the economic problems that the country is facing. In order to get those back burner projects moving forward, it’s been proposed that there would be tolls used.

Toll roads are becoming increasingly uncommon in this country, but with the economy struggling and people having problems paying their bills, counties and states have started talking about instituting a policy of more tolls. The tolls could help pay for a link between Interstate 490 and University Circle on the east side of Cleveland.

Another project that has been sitting for some time and that the toll could revive would be the link that has been proposed between Portsmouth and Cincinnati. Roadway capacity would have to be studied and the projects that would be built would have to have importance for the state if tolls were to be approved on new construction roads, but it looks like a definite possibility that Ohioans and those who travel through the state will be seeing some tolls on their roads in the very near future, along with some new construction.
