NAFTA Trucking Trade Hits All Time High

According to the Bureau of Transportation Statistics (BTS) trucking trade between the North American Free Trade Agreement partners hit an all time high in April.   Surfice trade between the UnitedStates, Mexico and Canada hit $74.3 billion,  a number 14.3 percent higher than April 2007, and the highest monthly amount ever recorded.

The previous record high was $74.2 billion, just 200 million dollars less, set in October of 2007.

April’s monthly numbers were also 5% higher than march.

Surface transportation represents 88% of the total trade between the US, Canada and Mexico. In the last 10 years, surface trade has increased by almost 92%
