Some of the truckers being affected the most by the struggling economy are loggers. They are working in a broken system, where they often have a hard time making a good living anyway.
Add to that the problems that they are facing from the economy, and that means that they might as well give up in some instances.One of the biggest problems that they are seeing with the economy right now is that things are not being built. There are fewer homes and businesses going up and there are fewer people who are working on fixing up and improving their houses. They are not moving forward like they were, and so the demand for logs has gone down. People also use less paper today because of the Internet, and that means that fewer logs are needed for that as well.
With both of these things working against them loggers are really struggling to make ends meet and they find that they have to continually make sacrifices in order to keep their businesses going.
